Some Sad News Bill Nicholson – Our partner and friend, Bill Nicholson, died at 3:24 PM on Friday, April 24, 2008 after a valiant fight with cancer. He passed on in a good frame of mind, having had the opportunity to come to grips with his situation and the opportunity to say goodbye to many, but not all, of his friends and family. The Man and The Business Bill Nicholson loved the agency business, and was a passionate and tireless advocate for its contribution to our society and our economy. What was unique about Bill is that he was able to sit down with agency CEOs and CFOs at any size company and help them deal with the issues before them. He excelled at that, regardless if they were just five people or one of the mega-shops. His perspective of our industry was broad, but he drilled down to its smallest details. He will be truly missed. The Man and The Company A company’s culture, ethics and business practices reflect those of its founders and A-Team Advisors certainly reflect Bill’s. The company’s standard of ethics and its striving to be best in class was motivated do a large degree by Bill. The company’s objective is to continue try and achieve Bill’s example. The Man and His Friends and Family Bill treasured his friends. He was compassionate but continually encouraged his friends to do better and be better. He was motivating, supportive and so very many people cherished his friendship. Bill was there when you really needed a friend. He was dedicated to helping others and he had an unyielding devotion to family and friends. Bill loved deeply his family. He is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Nancy; his daughter from a previous marriage, Dina Johnson and her husband, Hartley; his step-daughter Anne Mack and her husband Colin; his step-son Alex Hulse and his wife Sara; his two grandchildren William Johnson, Andrew Johnson; and four step-grandchildren, Charlotte Mack, Grace Mack, Colby Mack and Tristan Mack; and nephew, John Nicholson and his wife, Diane and their two children Emily and Matthew. The Man and Some of His Connections Bill was active in the advertising industry. He could be found at any number of advertising functions either as a speaker or just to be with people in the business he loved. He was also a member of The Lotos Club of New York City; the Onteora Club of Tannersville, New York; and the Elka Club of Elka Park, New York. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 209 Madison Avenue and 35th Street in New York City. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to Church of the Incarnation, 209 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10016; All Souls Church, Post Office Box 451, Tannersville, New York 12485; or Hospice Care Network/The Hospice Inn Fund, 99 Sunnyside Blvd., Woodbury, NY 11797.
